With the hillside Clubhouse acting as the central “landmark” for the site, Graham Marsh and his team have planned the golf course to play as two returning nines - the front nine playing out and back to the east and south of the site alongside Anvil Creek, and the back nine playing initially to the west and then looping back towards the northern corner of the site before returning home to the south up a broad valley to the Clubhouse. Dynamic bunkering, creek views, mature vegetation and dramatic fairway shapes will set the scene and quickly reveal the true qualities of this golf course. Each ‘nine’ has a special character of it’s own and every hole will provide new and different experiences. Playing through dramatic landforms, along the fringes of creeks, through copses of remnant eucalypt and casuarina forests, beside vineyards and surrounded by rural views, it will not be possible to forget the intrigue and charm of the majestic Australian landscape that will such an integral part of a round of golf at Anvil Creek. It is a fitting tribute to the Eynesbury Township that the golf course is centred on the classic homestead that represents so much of Australia's pastoral history. On a property that was suited to that industry far more than golf, we have endeavoured to create a golfing experience that represents rural Australia, yet at the same time will rival and complement the great golfing qualities of the world famous sand belt courses and those of the Mornington Peninsula. Suzhou Taihu International Golf Course
The Suzhou Taihu International Golf Club straddles the line between the ancient and contemporary, between Suzhou’s Jiangdun Mountain and the vast waters of Lake Taihu and between a reverence for ancient culture and for the game of Golf. Where once Sun-Tzu commanded the soldiers of Wu, you can now command the Fairway, and with luck dominate 18 holes of Taihu International’s world-class golf course. The course is designed by Graham Marsh and the clubhouse each conform to the gentle symmetry of the land and the water, leaving you with a sense that you’ve truly left your frustrations behind.
